The holidays are just around the corner and the Grand Strand is busy gearing up for this festive season. There are so many fun holiday themed events in the area and parades in particular are a popular draw. There are several holiday themed parades in the area – meaning you will have plenty of chances to catch one during your stay in Myrtle Beach. Whether you are enjoying an extended holiday stay in the area or you are planning for a longer snowbird vacation, be sure to check out of the area’s Christmas parades!

 

Intracoastal Christmas Regatta Boat Parade | November 28th | 5pm

christmas parade santaThe Intracoastal Christmas Regatta, which takes place each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, has become an area tradition for many. The parade begins at the Little River Inlet at 5pm and slowly floats down the Intracoastal Waterway, finally ending at Dock Holidays Marina around 7pm. Watch as boats of all shapes and sizes decked out in Christmas décor pass by and light up the river! There are several public viewing spots along the route, so bundle up the whole family and make this a part of your holiday tradition.

 

Ripley’s / Broadway at the Beach | December 5th | 11am

Head to Broadway at the Beach on Saturday, December 7th for the city of Myrtle Beach’s only official holiday parade! The parade includes tons of local floats and harbors a very family oriented atmosphere. The fun starts at 11am as the parade begins near the Hard Rock Café and winds around the complex, finally ending near WonderWorks. There will be tons of entertainment in Broadway after the parade, so stick around for an afternoon full of fun!

 

City of North Myrtle Beach | December 5th | 5:30pm

Venture to North Myrtle Beach to see their annual holiday parade. The parade route begins on Main Street and goes all the way down to Ocean Boulevard and includes a variety of local floats, walking groups, and street performers. This parade starts at 5:30 and ends at approximately 7:30.

 

Murrells Inlet | December 6th | 12pm

The Murrells Inlet Christmas Parade also takes place on a Sunday afternoon and is a great option if you cannot make it to a Saturday parade. This cheerful event begins at 3:00 pm and rides down highway 17 business, passing by the popular MarshWalk area. The parade will include a variety of local floats, marching bands, motorcycles, and more!

 

City of Surfside Beach | December 12th | 2pm

If you can’t make it to one of the Sunday parades – fret not! Just head south to the quaint town of Surfside Beach and participate in their annual Sunday celebration. The parade begins at 2: oo and winds down Ocean Boulevard. The event will include plenty of themed floats, walking groups, and an appearance from Santa himself!
